Orange

They were giving out mikan (aka Japanese summer orange, mandarin orange, clementine) at church yesterday after the service since they're in season and plentiful. Aeris really wanted one so we let her play around with one when we got home. She actually got through the skin to the fruit in a couple of different places and amazingly seemed to love it despite it being so strong and sour. We gave her a slice of the fruit after she was done with the orange and she couldn't get enough of it. Who knew?





In other cute Aeris news, her new favorite sound is "da da da" and she's starting to repeat the sounds we make. If we say "ba" she says "ba" if we say "ee" she says "ee", etc. She's also discovering gravity and loves watching things fall to the floor, over and over again. She can easily pull herself up to stand (with some support) and can stand for several seconds all by herself. She also seems to detest green beans. She LOVES books, and is especially good at turning the pages! She'll slowly open each page and peer over at it in awe as the next picture unfolds. Mirrors enthrall her. Socks annoy her. Teeth and crawling seem a ways off, though she does love to spin in circles on the floor and will chew on anything within reach.
