It's only the second time we've been to Hiroshima, but we're already planning our next trip. We didn't do much sightseeing this time since we saw almost everything two years ago, but we did explore some more parts of the city. We found an awesome Mexican/American diner called Graffiti earlier today, though it took us a couple of passersby, a phone call, and a generous person to guide us there... plus a LONG walk to the bus station and back to drop off our luggage so we could climb the 4 floors to the diner, but we later realized there an elevator, oops. It was all worth it. :-D We also discovered a cute omelet rice restaurant, Tago Rice, perfect for satisfying my "omuraisu" craving. Best of all, we went to this funky, totally eclectic shopping mall, Sun Mall. Everything was crazy random, so fun! I really enjoyed browsing through all the used and vintage clothing and the Studio Ghibli souvenir shop (one of the few shops that made sense). Unfortunately, our time there was short - so there are still several more floors for us to discover! I really wanted to find a kimono recycle shop and a special paper craft store, but they were on the other side of the city, so we'll try to find them the next time. And of course, we paid a visit to the three biggest bookstores. Jeremy also found a hobby store that sold "real" boardgames! He was in heaven, of course he had to buy a new game! Sadly, we didn't have any okinomiyaki (one of my favorite Japanese foods, which Hiroshima is famous for). We also stayed at a fancy hotel, the Ana Crowne Plaza - not necessarily out of choice as we made our reservations so late, few hotels still had rooms available - but what a treat it was! We felt like we should be rich staying there! The room and bathroom were enormous, we had a variety of pillows on our beds, the fridge was stocked full of things (of course we didn't partake of any), we had a large flat screen TV, and access to a spa, massage parlor, swimming pool, full gym, room service, laundry service, etc etc. I've never seen anything like it. Too bad it wasn't cheaper so we could have spent an extra few days! Here are some pictures.

This is after daddy was 'baptized' into parenthood. Eri had a massive poop blowout all over her, the Moby, and daddy - it was
everywhere, what a mess! The only part of Jeremy it didn't touch was his shoes. Poor Obi Wan. AND this happened at a restaurant where there was only a tiny bathroom with no changing table - shh, don't tell the staff what happened on their booth
or in their bathroom... Mommy even found some leftovers on her elbow a while later... Lesson learned: Don't put a backed up baby into the Moby.

After trying a number of different finger combinations, she has definitely settled on her two middle fingers. She's often found sucking on them like this.

I believe, this is only the third picture of just Aeris and I aside from a picture of me nursing her at the hospital and one of us napping together.
We miss you, Hiroshima. We'll be back!
*Aeris also reached 2 months old the last day we were there. I bought a tape measure and weighed her at a friend's house before we left to find out her stats as there are no 2-month check ups here. She weighed 4.8k (or 10lbs 9oz) as of 8/31, and measured slightly longer than 58cm (23" inches) and her head circumference was 38.5cm (15") as of 9/4.
