Prayers Please

Some of you may know that Jeremy was finally offered a job a few weeks ago. He is currently in his third week at a distribution warehouse. He accepted the job out of duty to provide for his family; he was feeling discouraged that it had been over 3 months and no one had called him back out of all the dozens and dozens of applications he filled out. I was sad he felt like he had to take a job that was literally everything he did NOT want. He did not want to be in a warehouse ever again!, he did not want to make less than $14 an hour as it's very difficult to live on much less (he's making a LOT less), he did not want night shift - you guessed it... I cried for him, but I am very proud of my husband to take that job for us. He is sacrificing a lot. Anyway, the job is quite a drive away from where we are currently living with his parents (about 50 minutes), so driving that distance for the price is ridiculous to me, especially when he could easily get a similar position here in town for the same pay, though the working conditions may not be as nice. Gah! He is a college graduate, it is degrading to only be able to get basic warehouse jobs. He shouldn't have to. Granted, he has no experience in absolutely anything else, other than some teaching, which he isn't really interested in doing. So how do you GET experience if no one will hire you? I'm getting discouraged now! :-( Last week we found an apartment a few minutes away from his current job, and though it still sounded silly to me to be moving all that way for an unwanted position, we were both very excited at the prospect of having our own place again. Today, we found out the apartment has been rented, so it's back to the drawing board for us, as we can't afford anything else. Perhaps, it was a sign from God telling us not to move and/or not keep the job. If so, then what? Do we stay here and take any job nearby that is offered to him be it full-time, part-time, seasonal, or temporary, as long as it pays, OR go back to school to help our chances of finding a career down the road, OR tough it out with our current job, including the long drive time in the middle of the night for minimal pay? Or even go back overseas to teach again, which we both enjoy? God help us. We are in need of some real guidance, peace, and patience. Please pray.

Ohio State Fair '11

It was a beautiful day for the state fair! There were lots of people, fun crafts, and yummy fair food.

Roommates

On Sunday, we went to my church in Elgin and saw many of my friends there. It was so good to be there! It hardly felt like 3 years had gone by. We went out to lunch with several church friends, then met up with Jeremy's college roommies and their families. My, how WE've grown!

We visited the Elgin Festival park and the kids had fun playing in the water.

After her nap, she didn't take too long to start enjoying the water!

Matthew's birthday party

Friday we spent the way reminiscing about our time in the Elgin area. We stopped by the Spring Hill mall, drove around through Judson's campus, stopped at the Gail Borden library, and visited the Gabharts for game night.

Saturday, we went to Marissa's home for her son, Matthew's 1st birthday party.
